Plastic injection molding in Taiwan is at a high level of expertise in comparison with other Asian countries. Taiwan also has much better working conditions, environmental regulations and worker relations than most it’s neighbors. Government policies that have enabled the plastics industry to develop in a free-market manner. This has enabled the plastic injection molding industry to develop to a high technical level. The open market nature has given fair competition the ability to bring in high end jobs and industries.

What are some advantages of Taiwan over mainland China?

* Decades of industrial growth and stability without destroying the environment
* Safe and healthy working conditions for the employees. Taiwan has a long history or good human rights relations which reflects in it’s labor laws.
* For the environment. Industry has cooperated with the government to keep the island clean and relatively unpolluted
* Costs are generally one-third less than those of the USA. This means you can receive high quality at reduced prices.
* Thermoplastic injection molds, thermosetting molds, and custom molds of all types have developed to a high level of expertise.
* No history of human rights abuse

What are some industries Taiwan specializes in?

Taiwan has an excellent relationship with the US, Europe and Japan because of it’s political and economic system. This has enabled the island country to attract leading aerospace, automotive, electronics, computer, and small appliance companies.

Taiwan is also known as Treasure Island for its beautiful scenery and landscapes. The island is a popular destination for tourists who want to enjoy its grand mountains, theme parks, beaches, and cultural offerings. Enjoy its friendly people, fine weather, excellent tourist facilities, and convenient transportation.

1.) Mt. Yushan

Don’t miss seeing the Jade Mountain, Mt. Yushan, which is Northeastern Asia’s highest peak. Exercise your limbs by climbing this 3,952-meter-high mountain. You’ll be treated to crisp mountain air and a breathtaking view at the top.

2.) Yang Min Shan National Park

This a favorite place due to its hot springs, wonderful flora and wildlife and spas. Its mineral springs are popular with people from Taipei. Just 45 minutes by bus or 70 minutes by train, visitors can go hiking or have a picnic here.

3.) Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall

This palatial structure is also known as the National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall. Built to commemorate Chiang Kai Shek, the building represents the flag of Taiwan with its blue roofs, red flowerbeds, and white walls. Lush gardens flank the hall, and it is located close to the National Theatre and National Concert Hall.

4.) Penghu

Penghu is an archipelago of 64 islands between Taiwan and the mainland. It has sandy beaches, fishing villages, and delicious seafood. Its only city of Makung is a beautiful place with an outdoor market, fishing harbor, and temples.

5.) Tienhsiang

Located in Tienhsiang is the Taroko Gorge, probably Taiwan’s most beautiful tourist attraction. It is 19 km long with cliffs dropping away to a rushing river of water. The Eternal Spring Shrine straddles a waterfall and is a memorial to the 450 workers who died constructing the Taroko Highway.

6.) Lung Shan Temple

Also known as the Dragon Mountain Temple, this temple is very impressive for its architecture and religious practices where worshippers give offerings to the various gods here, the main one being the Goddess of Mercy. Offerings such as fruit, flowers, and money are made here to the deities, and this is done by burning paper money or putting it in the offertory box. The temple is situated in the Wanhua district, just near the Huashi Night Market.

7.) Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall

Don’t miss this great hall where a 30-foot statue of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, who played a pivotal role in Taiwanese history, adorns the entrance. Tourists can watch the changing of the guard. They can also watch world-class shows in the theatre on the upper floors.

8.) The National Palace Museum

Comparable to the best museums in the world like the Louvre, the National Palace Museum contains one of the most extensive collections of Chinese artifacts and objects d’art. It is twin to the Palace Museum in Beijing, which was split in twain by the civil war, which also resulted in the formation of Taiwan. It contains masterpieces which provide glimpses of Chinese craftsmanship.

9.) Taipei 101

Taipei 101 is the tallest building in the world standing at 509 meters. Opened in November 2003, it is shaped like a Chinese pagoda with 8 floors in each pagoda roof and was designed according to traditional feng shui principles. It is situated near the Taipei Exhibition Convention Center, the Grand Hyatt Hotel, and the Japanese department stores of Sogo and Mitsukoshi.

10.) Guang Hua Night Market

This is a street food market made up of food stalls catering to local residents. This exciting array of snack shops offer tasty and cheap treats such as soup made from beef bone stock and different kinds of dumplings, pancakes with tangy sauce, and roti bread. In the market you will find locals who come here to grab a bite or buy food to take home.

Education is very important today. Consequently, Taiwan’s educational system is well-developed and included several stages of study. Nowadays Taiwan has a nine-year compulsory education system, which includes six years of elementary school and three years of junior high school. After the compulsory education a person may graduate from senior high school after three years of studying and then go on with studying in a university or college for four years. Having achieved the secondary level a person may continue studying. He can go on with specialized training at five-year junior colleges, which accept students right after graduating from junior high school. These junior colleges focus on applied sciences and technology. In addition, there are two-year junior colleges, liberal arts colleges, technical colleges and universities. University undergraduate programs accept students after four years of study. Nevertheless, students who are not able to perform all the requirements within the designated time – four years of study – are given additional time of about two years. Specialized undergraduate programs such as jurisprudence or medicine take from six to seven years with an included internship period of one year.

If you want to receive master or doctoral degree you need to fulfill a graduate program that require one to four years and two to seven years of study. However, those people who combine job with studies can be given additional time if for some reason they cannot finish the required course or to complete their thesis/dissertation in time. There exist supplementary schools from the elementary through senior high and senior vocational school levels in Taiwan. Consequently, everyone can choose his educational direction and choose some profession. Summarizing, Taiwanese educational program is a well-developed one with several levels of studying. Thus, everyone can choose a specialized educational program in order to become a good specialist

Taipei is one of the city of Taiwan. It is a very good place to holiday in for those who love the action of the big city. Taiwan is a place with a lot of sulfur springs, spas and hotels. One of the popular sulfur pits is Bei Tou. Bei Tou is on top of a mountain near to Yang Ming Mountain National Park. There are a lot of cheap hotels at Bei Tou. Travel agents also like to sell the hot spring resorts at Bei Tou in their vacation packages.

Their hot spring resort is like a chalet, each chalet is three storey high with four bedrooms and a kitchen. There is a basement an each chalet that houses a natural stone tub hot spring. Besides our own personal hot spring, we can enjoy a variety of hot springs at the resort. There are natural hot spring made into a swimming pool like complex with waterfall. There are also hot springs with Jacuzzi built into the hot spring. The chalet also have an activity where we can cook the egg in the hot spring and eat the eggs that we cooked ourselves. There are also dining facilities, massage parlor and swimming pool at the resorts. The resorts are all on the mountains, therefore the temperature can be down to ten degrees Celsius in the day. It is very cooling with heavy fog at night.

In Taiwan sports recreation has become increasingly popular, hardly surprising when you consider that it was in 2001 that the two-day weekend was first introduced. Legislation decreased a five and a half day working week, down to five days. This saw more Taiwanese have spare time in which to pursue recreational activities.

There was a sudden growth in Taiwan sports recreation and group activities were and are especially popular. A large number of teams were created to compete against each other, often organised by schools, local companies and government offices. Basketball and softball in particular have become extremely popular, though soccer and baseball have only had limited take up so far. These last two team games are become a well followed sport at international level, although there is a relative lack of take up in playing at a national level. Taiwan sports recreation has also seen a good take up or racquet and bat sports, with tennis, badminton, and table tennis being especially popular. Water has also played an important role in Taiwan sports recreation growth, and are the most popular sports activities. Swimming and diving in particular have proved to be popular in the sea and in swimming pools. Weekends see the seas and lakes of Taiwan packed as people relax by windsurfing, yachting, canoeing, fishing and paragliding.

The relationship between China and Taiwan is best seen as a broken marriage. China wants to reconcile the rift on its own terms, and threatens consequences if that should not happen. Taiwan, on the other hand, suffers from multiple personality disorder. One part of it wants an outright divorce. The other wants to stay separated with the option of eventual reconciliation.

For the last eight years, Taiwan has been ruled by a president who favored outright divorce. His government has been responsible for hampering economic interactions between China and Taiwan. As the result, Taiwan’s economy languished exactly when China was making a great leap forward. Taiwanese stock market is basically where it was eight years ago. But many emerging economies have seen their stock markets double or even triple during that time. It’s likely we’ll see a catch-up rally once the dust settles after the election.

Officially known as the Republic of China (R.O.C.), Taiwan should not be confused with the People’s Republic of China, which refers to mainland China. Within the past 200 years the island has been ruled by the Dutch, become part of Japan, has been “returned” to China and is currently striving to become an internationally recognized sovereign nation. Taiwan’s tumultuous and fascinating history of the Aboriginal, Taiwanese and Chinese people is revealed through the many cultural festivals held throughout the year. Travel to the island in February for the Taiwan Lantern Festival or in June to watch the world-famous Dragon Boat Races during the Dragon Boat Festival.

One of Taiwan’s most prominent cultural symbols is Taipei 101, the world’s tallest building, measuring 508 meters and 101 floors. Finished in 2003, the tower signifies Taiwan’s substantial economic growth from the periphery of the global economy to become one of the four Asian Tigers, as well as the government’s dedication to a democratic society separate from that of China. Tainan, the oldest and fourth largest city on the island, offers a more authentic and less commercialized window into Taiwanese culture. Temples and Memorial Arches define this city where the Ching Dynasty once prayed to the God of War.

To Taiwanese entrepreneurs, agriculture as a business is not that lucrative. However, a subcategory of the industry which is floriculture does. Floriculture is the propagation of orchids or other ornamental plants and has been now a big business venture in Taiwan. In 2006, Taiwan has produced more than four hundred million US dollars worth of horticulture crops like orchids, anthurium, foliage plants and the likes. Much of its produce is exported to Japan, the US, Europe, Hong Kong and worldwide. In 2006, Taiwan exported worth of seventy seven million US dollars floriculture products and the 2007 figures are expected to be higher.

The aggressive entry of entrepreneurs has increased ten times floriculture production area from 1978 to 2006. It was just 1,242 hectares in 1978 and it had reached to 13,375 hectares in 2006. In 1975 floriculture crops where produced in open fields whereas today, the norm is to produce them in high tech greenhouses. Although the area devoted to floriculture has increased more than ten times since 1978, the value of the floriculture products had increased more than thirty times.
